CONTEXT

The Wellcome Trust's Climate Impact Awards fund research and innovation at the intersection of climate change and human health. Evaluating a portfolio of this scale and diversity requires robust data management systems, consistent quality assurance processes, and the ability to synthesise evidence across varied project types and geographies.

MY ROLE

Research Analyst — supporting multi-method evaluation across the portfolio.

APPROACH & KEY ACTIVITIES

• Managed and analysed large-scale survey data collected across the funded portfolio, overseeing data quality and consistency

• Applied Microsoft Copilot for large-scale data quality review and analysis, ensuring accuracy and comparability across a high volume of responses

• Reviewed and synthesised portfolio-level documentation to assess progress against evaluation questions

• Contributed to data analysis and cross-portfolio synthesis, drawing out patterns and insights relevant to funding strategy and programme learning

• Supported recommendations for future funding cycles based on evidence from the portfolio

OUTCOME

Contributed to a portfolio-wide evaluation providing Wellcome Trust with evidence-based insights to inform the development and strategic direction of the Climate Impact Awards programme.
